In October, Vinmec Central Park International Hospital launched Cancer Prevention Week with the participation of experienced national and international experts in oncology. Attendees can have free examinations, consultations, and screenings, as well as learn useful knowledge on effective cancer prevention and treatment tips.
The Cancer Prevention Week consisted of two main activities including free screenings and consultations, and knowledge-sharing sessions on cancer prevention, detection, and treatment.
Nowadays, the incidence of cancer is increasingly high. Cancer can be attributed to high exposure to chemicals, viruses, and radioactive substances, etc. or the development of unhealthy daily habits such as smoking, skipping breakfast, staying up late, workout laziness, and unprotected sexual interaction, etc.
Vietnam’s ranking of new cancer incidence is up by 9 levels as compared to 2018. Specifically, Vietnam is ranked at 90/185 countries. And the cancer mortality rate has increased by 6 levels, ranking 50/185 countries. It is estimated that up until now, there have been 122,690 cancer deaths and 182,563 new cancer cases.
Globally, there are about 20 million new cases of cancer each year and over 10 million deaths due to this “malignant” disease. The figures estimated based on World Health Organization (WHO) data sources are very alarming.
Therefore, cancer screening for timely detection and treatment is necessary and imperative. Being cognizant of this issue, Vinmec Central Park launched Cancer Prevention Week to raise cancer awareness and knowledge for attendees.
Cancer Prevention Week took place from 02/10 to 06/10/2023 at Vinmec Central Park International Hospital with fantastic vouchers for attendees: 20% off for thyroid/gynecological/breast/gastrointestinal cancer screening packages; 30% off for subclinical examination for lung/prostate cancer screening.
